There are numerous applications for use of explosives in industries such as refining, utility, pulp and paper, petrochemical, and lime quarries. Our primary application is to deslag hardened material that accumulates in practically all areas of coal and fuel oil boilers. Utilizing "best practice" methods that have evolved through many years of controlled detonation, PSC removes hazards and barriers prior to personnel entry so that other cleaning and repairs can be completed safely. A non-conductive detonation system is used to eliminate the possibility of accidental discharge from static electricity.

Typical applications include the removal of slag, clinker, pendant build-up, webbing between tubes (gas passages), main furnace throat plugs, ash hoppers and other hard deposits normally requiring pneumatic hammers and manual labor to remove.

Additionally, explosive services can be used to remove build up in slurry tanks, steel mill sonic chambers, precipitator hoppers, dry or wet scrubber hoppers, lime kilns, resin tanks, and numerous concrete applications.
